ABOUT Palak Khichdi RECIPE

This is something what you can go for when you are very lazy to enter the kitchen yet you wanna give your family healthy and nice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. One bowl rice
  2. 1/2 bowl yellow moong dal
  3. Two medium size onions
  4. Three medium size tomatos
  5. Two green chillies
  6. One tsp ginger-garlic paste
  7. ghee
  8. 1/4 tsp mustard seed
  9. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  10. One bunch of palak washed and finally chopped
  11. Garam masala 1/4 tsp
  12. Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  13. Red chill powder 1/4 tsp
  14. a pinch of Hing
  15. salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak dal and rice for at least for half an hour.
  2. Take a pressure cooker. Heat ghee in it. Add mustard seed, cumin seeds,Hing and ginger-garlic paste in it.
  3. When the the paste changes it's color a little add finally chopped onions in it. Saute it for some time or it softened.
  4. Add tomatoes in it and cook till it is soft. After adding turmeric, chilli powder cook it for some more time and add soaked rice and dal in it. Stir it for some time.
  5. Add 2 1/2 glass boiling water in it. After adding salt put the lid and let it cook for 4-5 whistles. When the cooker cools down open it and add finally chopped palak and generous amount of ghee in it. Mix it well and serve hot. You can enjoy it with fresh curds, your favorite pickles and papad .
