Kodubale basically is deep fried item and very tasty food. But here ,i have prepared Rice palak steamed kodubale keeping kodubale theme in my mind.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Dosa Rice 2 cups
  2. Palak leaves 1 big cup
  3. Coriander leaves 1/2 cup, chopped
  4. Ginger 1 inch
  5. Cumin seeds 2 teaspoon
  6. Green chili 8-10
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Grated coconut 1 cup
  9. Coconut oil 1 teaspoon
  10. Curry leaves 6
  11. Onion 2, chopped

Instructions

  1. Clean and soak rice in water over night or for 3-4 hours. Drain excess water
  2. Blanch spinach leaves for 3-4 minutes. Drain excess water
  3. Grind rice with grated coconut ,ginger,green chili ,coriander leaves,palak and salt into slightly coarse paste.Add water and mix well to make runny batter. Keep it aside
  4. Heat oil in a heavy bottom big pan. Splutter cumin seeds
  5. Add curry leaves and onions. Saute until onions are golden brown
  6. Add rice batter and keep stirring continuously until it forms a thick dough.
  7. While the dough is still hot, rub cold water on palms. Take small amount of dough and shape like donut / kodubale. Steam the Kodubales for 15-20 minutes over medium heat
  8. Serve warm with coconut chutney.
