Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Raw rice 1 cup
  2. Moong dal 3/4 of the cup
  3. Asafoetida (hing) pinch
  4. Green chillies 4 to 5
  5. A small piece of grated ginger
  6. Curry leaves few
  7. Salt as required
  8. To saute :
  9. Black Pepper 4-5
  10. Jeera 1/2 tsp
  11. Cashew 4-5
  12. Corriander leaves (optional ) few
  13. Oil 1 tbsp
  14. Ghee 1 tbsp
  15. Water 4 cups for 1 cup of raw rice (4:1)

Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup of raw rice and 4 cups of water for the same in cooker.
  2. Add moong dal , hing powder 1 to 2 tsp , green chillies , grated ginger , curry leaves and stir well
  3. Alow 3 to 4 whistles to cook
  4. Saute oil( or ghee )with partially grinded blackpeper and jeera .
  5. Roast cashew in ghee and keep aside
  6. Once pressure settles add the jeera , pepper n cashews.
  7. Add 3 to 4 tsp of ghee and stir well.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with sambhar and chutney
