Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Red Beaten rice/ Poha - 400 gms
  2. Onion - 2 big chopped fine (You can also use shallots if you get them)
  3. Grated coconut - half cup( optional )
  4. Green chilly - 3 to 4 (slit into half ) or cut them small ( if you like it spicy)
  5. Pomegranate kernels - 1 small cup
  6. Ginger - 1 inch piece, peeled & finely chopped
  7. Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
  8. Mustard seeds - 1tspn
  9. Split urad dal - 1 tspn
  10. Lemon juice - a few drops ( optional )
  11. Coconut oil - 1 & half tbspn
  12. water for cooking
  13. Coriander leaves for garnish (optional )

Instructions

  1. Take a big vessel and put the red poha in it ....then wash it thoroughly drain it & keep aside
  2. Now in a kadai put oil & heat it...When it is hot...Add the mustard seeds & split urad dal after a few seconds ..saute well & please check it....
  3. Then add the chopped onions , green chilly , curry leaves & chopped ginger ...
  4. Add salt to taste...Mix well...After sautéing the onions and other ingredients....
  5. Put the washed & drained poha in it....Saute well for a minute or more....
  6. Sprinkle little water if it required
  7. When the poha is cooked...Turn off the gas and garnish with coriander leaves if you like, a few drops of lemon juice & Pomegranate kernels...
  8. Serve hot with tea or coffee
