ABOUT Samosa pattice pav RECIPE

Samosa pattice pav is a mouthwatering and famous Indian snack available at most parts of India, especially in Mumbai. This is another unique variant of pav, others being ragda pattice, pav bhaji, and misal pav etc. Samosa pattice pav is easy to make and loved by all age groups. This recipe can be easily made at home and can be served to guests. Aloo pattice is infused inside the pav and adorned with flavourful spices is the main idea of this recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Oil - 1 tablespoon
  2. Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  4. Green chilli paste - 1 teaspoon
  5. Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  6. Fennel powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Aamchur powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  9. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  10. Mashed potatoes - 1 cup
  11. Green peas (blanched) - 1/4 cup
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Fresh coriander -1 tablespoon
  14. Fresh pav - 1 peice
  15. Butter - 1 teaspoon
  16. Papad - 1 (for making pattice crunchy)
  17. Tomato, onion and cucumber (Optional) - sliced 1 each

Instructions

  1. Take a pan and keep it on medium flame. Add in the oil, cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste and green chilli paste.
  2. Mix in the red chilli powder, fennel powder, amchur powder, garam masala and coriander powder. Stir well to make the paste.
  3. Add the mashed potatoes and green peas. Sprinkle some salt and mix it all well to make the filling.
  4. Take a handful of the mixture and shape the filling into a pattice. Coat the pattice in crushed papad to give it a crunchy texture.
  5. Shallow fry the pattice till they turn golden brown.
  6. Take a heated pan add butter, garam masala and coriander. Toss the pav in it to give it some flavour. Add in some tomatoes, onions and cucumber if preferred.
  7. Yummy samosa pattice pav is ready to be served.
