ABOUT Methi Malai Matar RECIPE

A delightful combination of peas, methi leaves and cream, enjoyed with some fresh roti

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1.5 cup Peas boiled
  2. 1/2 cup Milk
  3. 1/2 cup Cream
  4. 1 onion chopped
  5. 4-6 Cashewnuts
  6. 1/2 '' inch Cinnamon stick
  7. 2 big Cardamoms
  8. 3-4 cloves
  9. 2 tbsp Oil
  10. 4 tbsp Dried fenugreek leaves
  11. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  12. 1/2 tsp White pepper
  13. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Grind cinnamon, cardamoms and cloves together. Keep them aside
  2. Heat oil in a vessel, add chopped onions. Cook till golden brown.
  3. Add mixture to the onion and cook for another few seconds.
  4. Add cream and cook at low flame for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Grind cashew nut and add it to the gravy.
  6. Add boiled peas and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Add milk , sugar , salt, red chilli powder and fenugreek leaves. Cook for 4-5 minutes more.
  8. Garnish it with cashew nuts and serve hot.
