ABOUT Moong Dal Appam RECIPE

Moong dal appam is a healthy breakfast option which is served with coconut chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Moong Dal 1/2 Cup
  2. Urad Dal 1/4 Cup
  3. Sprig 7 in one multipurpose spice blend 2-3 Teaspoons
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Oil 2-3 Tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak urad dal and moong dal for about 2 Hours.
  2. Grind using little water to fine paste.
  3. Consistency should be of idli batter.
  4. Cover and keep in warm place for fermentation for 4-6 hours.
  5. Add sprig spice and salt.
  6. Mix it well.
  7. Heat appam pan, drizxle little oil and scoop the batter into each cavity.
  8. Cover and let it cook on medium heat one side till crisp.
  9. Flip and cook on other side too.
  10. Remove and serve with coconut chutney.
