Moong daal Pakodi is my all time favourite. Today I have added grated Pumpkin to it.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Pumpkin grated 1 cup
  2. Moong daal 1/2 cup
  3. Sooji Rawa 2 tbsp
  4. Garlic crushed 2 tsp
  5. Ginger grated 1 tsp
  6. Red chilli powder 1 tsp ( according to taste you can add more)
  7. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Garam masala 1 tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Curry patta chopped fine 2 tbsp
  11. Oil 1 tbsp
  12. Oil for deep frying.

Instructions

  1. Soak Moong daal in minimum amount of water required for 45 minutes.
  2. Drain water ( preserve for later use) and coarse grind in a small jar of mixer.
  3. Now add grated Pumpkin and Sooji to it. Sooji gives a little crunchy taste to your Pakodi.
  4. Add all masala mentioned above. Adjust consistency by adding water if needed.
  5. Add chopped Curry leaves to it.
  6. Mix everything well. Check taste. Now add 1 tbsp of hot oil to it.
  7. Heat oil and deep fry small Pakodis.( fritters)
  8. Enjoy with Pickled Onions and Tomato ketchup.
