My family most favorite dish, made with okras or bhindis. A perfect side dish for rotis.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bhindi (lady finger) -15-20
  2. Cooking oil- 1/2 cup
  3. Cumin seed -1/2 tsp
  4. Corriender powder-1 tsp
  5. Turmaric powder -1 tsp
  6. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Garam masala powder -1 tsp
  8. Kasuri methi -1 tsp
  9. Hing -a pinch
  10. Onion -1 large
  11. Tomato- 2
  12. Ginger- garlic paste -1 tsp
  13. Curd -1/2 cup
  14. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash fresh bhindi and dry completely. Remove the tip and cut into half
  2. Take a pan and put it on medium flame. Put oil in it and fry bhindi untill it becomes golden brown. Keep aside.
  3. Take an another pan. Heat 2 tsp oil in pan. Add cumin seed and hing
  4. Add grounded onion and tomato paste And ginger-garlic paste. Saute on medium flame. Add all dry Masale and stir till they golden brown. add water and make gravy of thick consistency.
  5. Now add fried bhindi into it. Add kasuri methi and salt in it and stir. Cook for 10 minutes on low flame.Add curd into it. Stir completely on low flame for 2 minutes.
  6. Garnish with curd and basil leaf and serve hot.
