Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Rice flour- 1/2 kg
  2. Chana dal- 1 cup
  3. Urad dal- 1 cup
  4. Grated ginger- 1 tsp
  5. Green chillies- 7-8
  6. Asafoetida- 1/2 tsp
  7. Anise- 2 tsp
  8. Salt- to taste
  9. Oil- 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak chana dal and urad dal over night. Blend coarsely chana dal and urad dal not a fine paste
  2. In a pan heat oil and add grated ginger . Green chillies. Asefoetida. Anise and blended dal
  3. Mix everything very well and cook for 3-4 minutes. Switch off the flame and let the mixture cool
  4. In an another pan boil water and add to the rice flour. Gently mix flour and water. Knead it well with hands. Cover it and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  5. To make phare boil water in a deep pan. Add 1 tsp salt in water
  6. Roll kneaded flour and fill with daal mixture and gently close the phare with fingers in cylinderical shape
  7. Transfer these phare in boiling water. In 5 minutes these phare Will come on surface. Take them out.
  8. Let the phare cool down and using a sharp knife cut them into a small pieces.
  9. Serve with curd and chutney
