A popular dish in Rajasthan, this Kadhi has bursting flavors of spices and masalas.
Very very tasty
Mix 1 cup gram flour,coriander leaves, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, pinch of baking soda and 1 tsp cumin seeds in a bowl with 4-5 tbsp of water.
Heat the oil in a pan, and drop spoonful of the batter into it.
Fry at medium flame till golden brown and drain on an paper towel.
Mix water, yoghurt, gram flour, turmeric and salt in a pan. Stir till smooth and no lumps are left.
Mix well, and cook for 7-8 mins till gram flour is well cooked or the gravy's consistency becomes little thick.
Keep it aside and covered.
Heat oil in a small pan then add mustard seeds and bay leaves.
When the mustard seeds starts popping , add cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds.
Add red chillies followed by asafoetida. Fry for few seconds till chillies turns darker in colour.
Remove the pan from heat, then add red chilli powder. Immediately pour the tempering over the kadhi.
Serve hot with cumin rice.

What is the benefit of adding baking soda in it ?
You mean only one spoon of gramflour is to be fried and remain use as raw? Pl.clear it.
you mean the pakodis? Just before serving please
when to add fried golden brown batter kept aside.....? what to do with the leftover batter...?
