ABOUT Bengan na Thepla (Brinjal Thepla) RECIPE

Thepla is Gujarati traditional dish normally made with flour and Methi bhaji, bottle gourd etc. Brinjal thepla is a unique variation in thepla.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Steamed brinjals pulp 1/2 cup
  2. Half banana
  3. Bajri flour 1 cup
  4. Wheat flour 1/4 cup
  5. Oil 1 tbs
  6. oil for cooking
  7. Salt
  8. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  9. Turmeric 1 tsp
  10. Green chilli and ginger paste 1tsp
  11. Sesame seeds 1 tsp
  12. ghee

Instructions

  1. Remove the skin of the brinjal cut in piece add salt and pinch of turmeric and pressur cook it.
  2. Smash the steamed brinjal, take wheat flour Bajri flower Smash banana salt or oil turmeric powder chili powder Chilli ginger paste and mix all and make a soft dough. There is no need of water.
  3. Make soft dough.
  4. Roll small thepla on rolling pan with the help of dry wheat flour.
  5. Heat the roti tawa cook the thepla on both side apply oil with spachula again cook on both sides on tawa.
  6. Remove from tawa apply 1 tsp of ghee which will add flavor and softness in thepla.
  7. Sever hot with chunda or curd.
