Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 500 gms baby potatoes
  2. 2 - 3 tbsp cornflour
  3. Salt to taste , for marinating potatoes as well as for the sauce
  4. 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
  5. 4 tbsp finely chopped onion
  6. 2 tbsp tomato chilly sauce
  7. 4 tbsp tomato puree
  8. 1 /2 tsp soya sauce
  9. 1 tsp vinegar
  10. 1 tbsp oil for making sauce + oil for deep frying the potatoes
  11. 2 tbsp roasted white sesame seeds
  12. 4 tbsp finely chopped spring onion greens

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker boil potatoes , only for one whistle
  2. Let it cool down completely
  3. Then open pressure cooker and strain the potatoes in a strainer
  4. When the potatoes cools down then peel them
  5. Now in a big bowl put together potatoes , corn flour and salt
  6. Shake the bowl with your hands so that the cornflour coats the potatoes evenly
  7. Do not mix with hands
  8. Keep it aside for half an hour to marinate
  9. After half an hour heat oil for deep frying in a kadai , first on high then make it medium
  10. Now slide the marinated potatoes in the hot oil and deep fry them , by turning them continuously , until becomes brown
  11. Simultaneously heat a tbsp of oil in another pan to make the sauce
  12. Heat on medium flame , first put garlic , saute for a minute
  13. Then add onion , saute for 2 minutes
  14. Then add tomato puree , tomato chilly sauce , soy sauce , honey and salt , mix well
  15. Now add the fried potatoes in the sauce directly from the kadai and mix nicely
  16. In the end add vinegar and mix well
  17. The honey chilly potatoes are ready to serve
  18. Take them out in a serving plate and garnish with roasted white sesame seeds and finely chopped spring onion greens
  19. If you want more spicy then you can add red chilly paste
