ABOUT Shahi malai paneer RECIPE

A delicious main course dish bound to be hit at any kind of parties.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gms paneer
  2. 2 large onions roughly chopped
  3. 2 large tomatoes roughly chopped
  4. 1 inch cinnamon
  5. 2 cloves
  6. 1 cardamom
  7. 1 bay leaf
  8. 1 black cardamom
  9. 1 tbsp oil
  10. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  11. 1 tbsp Butter
  12. 1/2 cup fresh cream
  13. 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  14. 1 tsp kitchen king masala
  15. 1/2 tsp haldi
  16. 1 tsp kasoori methi
  17. Salt to taste
  18. Coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the paneer into cubes and shallow fry it along with salt,kasuri methi and red chilli ppwder.Keep it aside.
  2. Now for the gravy heat oil.Add bay leaf,cimnamon,cardamom,black cardamom and cloves.Fry till aroma releases.
  3. Now add roughly chopped onions and tomatoes to it.Saute it till tomatoes are mushy.
  4. Switch off the flame and cool it.Thereafter grind it to a fine paste making sure to discard whole spices before grinding.
  5. Heat oil in a pan.Add ginger garlic paste.Saute till raw aroma goes away.
  6. Now add the onion tomato paste.Saute.
  7. Saute well till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan and is of this consistency.
  8. Now add salt,haldi,kasoori methi,kitchen king masala and red chilli powder and saute well.
  9. Now add 1 cup of hot water to make the gravy.
  10. Simmer a little and add a tbsp of butter to it.
  11. Now add 1/2 cup cream stirring continuosly to prevent cream from curdling.
  12. Cook till you reach this consistency.
  13. Now add the flavoured paneer pieces to it.
  14. Mix well with the gravy.
  15. Cover and cook for around 5 to 7 minutes till gravy releases butter.
  16. Now garnish it with some coriander leaves,dollop of butter and cream and serve it with naan,lachha parathas or roomali rotis
