ABOUT Stuffed Masala Bun RECIPE

A bun is a very common breakfast, but I make potato masala stuffed bun and it is very tasty.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ingredients for bun :
  2. All purpose flour (maida ) 2cup
  3. Instant yeast 1 tsp
  4. sugar 1tsp
  5. Salt 1/2tsp
  6. oil 2 tbsp
  7. Butter and milk for brushing
  8. Ingredients for stuffing (masaala):
  9. Boil and mashed potatoes 2 cup
  10. Chopped onion 1/2cup
  11. Black mustard seeds 1/2tsp
  12. Asafetida 1 pinch
  13. Chopped green Chilli 2
  14. Red chilli powder 1/4tsp
  15. Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
  16. Oil 1 tbsp
  17. Salt to taste
  18. Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and put all ingredients of the bun. Mix them well.
  2. With Luke warm water make a soft pasty dough. Knead it very well for 15 mins or until it becomes smoother and non-sticky dough. Now take few drops of oil and apply on the surface of the dough and cover it and keep in warm place for 1 hour.
  3. Meanwhile, we will make stuffing. Take a wok, put oil in it and heat it. Now put black mustard seeds in hot oil.
  4. When it crackle put remaining dry masala. Roast 3-4sec then put green chilli and onion and saute until become transparent ..
  5. Then add mashed potato and salt and cook for 5 mins .After that switch off the flame .. keep aside to cool.
  6. Now after one hour take dough, it becomes almost double .. now again knead it ..
  7. Now divide it in equal size balls ...
  8. Take a ball. little flatten with palm. Put 2-3 tsp filling in center and gather the edges and press to seal .
  9. Now take a greased baking tin put these stuffed balls and give the proper space between each balls
  10. Now again cover it and keep in a warm place for 1 hour
  11. After 1 hour brush milk and sprinkle sesame seeds and bake them in preheated oven on 200℃ for 15 mins
  12. After that remove the tin from oven brush the butter on buns .. and cover with little wet muslin cloth until become cool ..
  13. When buns cool completely ... Serve with green chatni ..
