ABOUT Green moong idli RECIPE

A very healthy and delicious breakfast. Made with power packed, low calorie and protein, vitamins and minerals enriched green gram. You don't need to soak for long hours. Just mix everything and after 15 minutes make delicious idli.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Overnight soaked green moong 1/2 cup
  2. Semolina or suji 1/2 cup
  3. Ginger 1/2 inch piece
  4. Green chilli 2-3
  5. Chopped coriander leaves handful
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Curd 3 tablespoon
  9. Eno fruit salt 1 teaspoon
  10. Cashew nuts as require
  11. Oil for greasing
  12. Lemon juice 1 teaspoon, optional

Instructions

  1. Grind Green moong with ginger, green chilli and coriander leaves.
  2. Mix the ground mixture with semolina or suji.
  3. Add curd, salt and cumin powder. Mix well.
  4. Add little water if require. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  5. Grease the idli moulds with little oil.
  6. After 15 minutes add Eno fruit salt and lemon juice. Give a good stir.
  7. Place cashew nuts in each moulds.
  8. Fill the moulds with moong and semolina batter.
  9. Steam the idli for 6-7 minutes or until done.
