Instant Oats Idli is a delicious Indian recipe served as a breakfast. Rich in fiber oats idli is a best and healthy breakfast recipe, which is a very appetizing and easy to make breakfast. Oats provides us with a wide range of health benefits. Oats have a great source of essential vitamins and minerals. Although the original idli itself is quite nutritious, this innovative version is even more wholesome and filling, give a try and enjoy this delicious recipe as a breakfast dish or as an evening snack.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Oats – 1 cup
  2. Semolina – 1 cup
  3. Ghee – 1 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt
  5. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  6. Chana dal – 1 tsp
  7. Cashew nut – 2tbs
  8. Coriander – 3tbs chopped
  9. Dill leaves –1/2 cup finely chopped
  10. Carrot – 1/2 cup grated
  11. Curd – 1 1/2 cup
  12. Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan by adding some oil in it, when it is hot, add mustard seeds, allow it to sizzle, add cashews and chana dal, fry until it turns to light brown in colour. Stir fry (take care while frying, do not over roast the ingredients).
  2. When nuts turns brown in colour, add chopped dill leaves and coriander, saute until raw smell disappears. Turn off the flame, allow it to cool at room temperature. Add prepared seasoning to oats idli mixture, combine together.
  3. Grease Idli moulds with oil, add grated carrot in each mould (as shown in the image) and keep ready. Add curds into the mixture and mix to Idli consistency. The consistency must not be too thick nor thin.
  4. Fill the prepared batter in the moulds, add water to the base of the steamer, arrange the mould in it, close the lid of the steamer and cook on a high flame for 10 minutes.
  5. Turn off the flame after cooking for 10 minutes. Rest for 5 minutes, before you open the lid of the steamer.
  6. Remove the mould from the steamer, remove idli’s with the help of a flat spoon from the mould carefully, one by one. Nutritious super soft Oats Idli is ready to enjoy with coconut chutney, sambar or chutney powder.
