ABOUT Maddur wada RECIPE

It is a tea time snack very popular in Karnataka. It is similar to thalipeeth of Maharashtra with the slight difference, that it is deep fried than shallow fried like thalipeeth.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice flour 1 cup
  2. Maida 1/2 cup
  3. Rava or sooji 1/2 cup
  4. Butter 1 1/2 tsp
  5. Onions finely chopped 1 cup
  6. Green chillies finely chopped 2-3
  7. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  8. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  9. Coriander leaves finely chopped 1/2 cup
  10. Whole jeera 1 tsp ( optional )
  11. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients and knead into a dough Make small balls of the size of a large lemon
  2. Grease a butter paper and flatten the ball upto 1/4 Inch thickness. Make a hole in the center
  3. Deep fry till golden brown Serve with the ketchup or any chutney of your choice
