Everyone enjoys burfis so here is another variety of the same, made with moong dal.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Moogdal -1cup
  2. Sugar -1/2cup
  3. Coconut powder-1/4cup
  4. Khoya-1/4cup
  5. Milk powder-1/4cup
  6. Green cadamom-1tsp
  7. Ghee -1/2cup
  8. Butter -2tbsp
  9. Silverfoil paper -1
  10. Yellow food colour -1pinch

Instructions

  1. Soak moong dal in water for couple of hours so that they fluff up. Strain and then make a paste of the same in a blender.
  2. Heat a pan add butter and ghee, add moong paste and roast it till it smells nice and cooked.
  3. Add khoya, milk powder, coconut powder, elichi powder.
  4. Add sugar syrup [make a sugar syrup using sugar and water, made earlier], mix a pinch of kesar [saffron] color , mix well and cook until the mixture is dry. Then transfer this mixture onto a greased plate.
  5. Let this set for few hours , cut them into pieces and garnish with some silver warq.
