ABOUT Palak kofta curry RECIPE

This is a twist to using spinach, in a very different and unique way. A lovely kofta curry, made with simple spices, and can be served with roti or rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the palak puree : Palak puree - 1 medium bowl
  2. 1/2 tsp ginger diced
  3. 5-6 garlic cloves
  4. 1 -2 green chillies
  5. 1/2 tsp salt
  6. 1 tbsp oil or ghee
  7. Other ingredients :
  8. 2 medium sized onions (roughly chopped)
  9. chopped garlic 5-6 cloves
  10. 2 tomatoes [blanch and skin peeled off]
  11. Milk 1 cup
  12. 1 tsp each coriander powder
  13. red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  14. garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  15. 1/2 tsp amchur powder
  16. salt to taste.
  17. For kofta : 2 boiled potatoes
  18. 2 slice bread
  19. 1 chopped onion
  20. 1 chopped green chilly
  21. coriander leaves
  22. 1 tsp coriander powder
  23. 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  24. salt to taste
  25. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  26. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

Instructions

  1. Boil palak with ginger ,garlic, green chillies, salt and oil . Puree it.
  2. Add oil heat it put garlic, saute until brown and now turn to add onions saute until light brown. Grind it with blanched tomatoes.
  3. In same kadhai or pan add this paste now turn to add dry ingredients together. Saute until oil leaves sides.
  4. Put it in palak puree and add 1 cup milk and 1/2 cup of water. Saute it atleast for 10-12 mints.
  5. For koftas : mix all ingredients in a bowl , add the bread slices that have been dipped in water and squeezed. knead and make same balls and fry it till golden brown.
  6. Now finally add palak puree in bowl and put balls in. Garnish with grated paneer, ghee or butter
