ABOUT Chicken Pakora RECIPE

Mildly spiced chicken coated in gram flour and rice flour batter and deep fried. This is my kiddo's favourite. Perfect snacks for kids.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Chicken boneless - 200 gms
  2. Gram flour - 1 tsp + 2 tbsp
  3. Rice flour - 1 tsp
  4. Green chilly - 1 small finely chopped or as per your taste
  5. Onion - 1 small finely chopped
  6. Coriander leaves few finely chopped
  7. Curry leaves - 2-3 finely chopped
  8. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  10. Chilly powder to taste
  11. Garam masala powder - ¼ tsp
  12. Coriander powder - ¼ tsp
  13. Cumin powder - ¼ tsp
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Oil - ½-1 cup
  16. Water as required to make thin batter

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken into small pieces.
  2. In a mixing bowl add the chicken, rice flour, 1 tsp gram flour, chopped onions, chillies, ginger garlic paste, masala powders and salt to taste.
  3. Mix them well together, add only few drops of water and incorporate them well.
  4. Take the chicken pieces and shape it to small round balls.
  5. In a bowl add the 2 tbsp of gram flour, salt to taste, add water and make a thin batter.
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan. When the oil is hot reduce the flame.
  7. Deep the chicken balls in the batter and deep fry them in low-medium heat till golden and crisp.
