Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Desi ghee 1 tablespoon
  2. Sugar 1 tablespoon
  3. Sooji 1 tablespoon
  4. Water 1 glass
  5. Almonds ( optional)

Instructions

  1. In a deep, heavy based sauce pan, melt the ghee add the sooji and stir fry over medium/low heat, depending on how often you stir it. 
  2. The sooji will become light brown and gets a glossy look and does not stick together much.
  3. Then add sugar and water in it and be quick enough to stir.
  4. The sooji will begin to absorb the water and swell.
  5. Keep on stirring often till the whole mixture starts thickening and starts to leave the edge of the kadai or pan.
  6. For garnishing put some almonds on it. serve sooji halwa hot or warm or when cooled.
