ABOUT SUJI HALWA RECIPE

This recipe is very close to my heart as,my mom used to make it for me everytime when i was on fasting.I always used to have this in meal of fasting.Whenever I came from long tuition hours during my board exams this tempting halwa always awaited on table withbmy mothers love.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup Ghee
  2. Green Cardamom 2
  3. 1/2 cup suji
  4. 1/2 cup Sugar
  5. Mixed dry fruits 1/4 cup
  6. 10 to 15 kesar strands soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk.
  7. Water 1 and half cups

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in heavy bottomed pan .
  2. Add ellachi and suji in ghee.
  3. Keep roasting suji for 5 to 7 mins on slow flame stirring in between for even roasting.
  4. Between the roasting time add nuts so that they too are slightly roasted.
  5. After few mins aroma arises then add water.
  6. Increase the flame to high .
  7. Add in sugar.
  8. Add soaked kesar strands. (I have added 2 drops yellow colour ,it's totally optional the difference is only u will get little lighter colour)
  9. Cook on high flame till 80% water evaporates and slower the flame. (At this stage ghee will release from sides of pan)
  10. Cover the lid and cook on slow flame for 2 to 3 mins.
  11. Serve hot .
