ABOUT Baby Onion kadhi(leftover sabji se bani) RECIPE

This is a special type of kadhi made in Rajasthan, Marvadi style.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 tbsp Besan
  2. 1/2 cup curd
  3. 1 green chilli chopped
  4. 8 to 10 curry leaves
  5. 1tsp ghee
  6. Pinch of hing [asafoetida]
  7. 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  8. 1 bay leaf
  9. 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds
  10. 1/4 th tsp fennel seeds
  11. 1/4 th tsp cumin seeds
  12. coriander leaves [a bunch]
  13. Onion [small sized, sauteed] - 8

Instructions

  1. Take a pan , mix the besan, turmeric powder , curd, salt and mix well.
  2. Add a bay leaf.
  3. Now switch off the flame and cook the above mixture on a low flame.
  4. Now while the kadhi is cooking, heat a pan with some ghee for tempering. Add curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and fennel seeds, curry leaves and hing.
  5. Add the tempering to the cooking kadhi. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Now add the cooked onions into the kadhi , in a serving bowl.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with some hot rice.
