Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cooked rice
  2. Oil
  3. Mustard
  4. Few channa dal
  5. 1 small onion chopped
  6. 3 medium Brinjal (long green one)
  7. 1 big Capsicum
  8. Few curry leaves
  9. Salt as required
  10. 4-5 tablespoon MTR Bisi Bele bath powder
  11. 1/2 Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Chop the brinjal as per your wish (I chopped it thin length wise). Chop capsicum roughly.
  2. In a pan add oil (add a bit more than you regularly use. Veggies will cook in the oil. No water is added. so make sure veggies are cut thin and evenly). Once the oil is heated add mustard. Allow it to splutter.
  3. Now add channa dal. Fry it. Add in curry leaves, onion, capsicum. Fry for 5 minutes.
  4. Add in brinjal. Fry till the veggies are cooked. Roughly 5 minutes. (Brinjal cooks faster than capsicum. So add it later).
  5. Now add Bisi Bele bath powder and salt. Fry for 5 more minutes or until the masala is cooked. Turn off the heat and add lemon juice.
  6. You can store the prepared masala for 2 days as water is not added. When you want, mix the masala with boiled rice and serve.
