Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Jackfruit (Kathal) -500 gms
  2. Potato -4 (medium)
  3. Onion -2 (paste)
  4. Ginger paste -1 tsp
  5. Tomato -4 (paste)
  6. Coriander powder -1 tsp
  7. Jeera powder -1 tsp
  8. Black pepper powder -1/2tsp
  9. Salt (according to taste)
  10. Red chilli powder -1/2tsp
  11. Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp
  12. Bay leaves -2
  13. Cumin (jeera) seeds -1/2tsp
  14. Cardamom (Elaichi) powder -1/2tsp
  15. Cinnamon powder -1/2tsp
  16. Ghee -1 tbsp
  17. Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. First of all, fry the chopped potatoes till it appears golden brown in colour.
  2. After that fry the jackfruit pieces till it appears to be brown.
  3. Keep the fried potatoes and jackfruit aside.
  4. Add cumin seeds and bay leaves to the preheated oil and after that add onion paste.
  5. Fry till it appears to be golden brown in medium heat.
  6. After frying till golden brown, add ginger paste and tomato paste. Fry until it starts to release oil.
  7. Then make a thick paste of cumin powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  8. Add the paste in the pan in which you have cooking and fry for a minute.
  9. Then add the fried potatoes and jackfruit to the pan and mix well in low flame for about 5 minutes.
  10. Then add water in the pan for making curry as per your taste.
  11. After that cover the pan and cook it for 10 minutes in a low flame.
  12. After cooking it for 10 minutes switch off the flame and add 1 tbsp of ghee and garam masala.
  13. Serve it hot with rice or chapati.
