ABOUT Farsi Puri RECIPE

A delightful snack with tea and coffee.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour - 250 gm
  2. Whole wheat flour - 100 gm
  3. Semolina - 50 gm
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  6. Ghee for moyan (to form crust) - 100 gm
  7. Oil for frying
  8. Carom seeds - 2tsp
  9. Black pepper coarsely ground - 1tsp
  10. Cornflour - 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take flour in plate, add salt, turmeric powder, carom seeds, pepper powder and ghee. Rub and mix with your fingers.
  2. Add water to the dough crumble and bind it to a semi-soft consistency.
  3. Cover and keep it for 10 minutes.
  4. in a small bowl take 1 tbsp of ghee. Add 1tsp cornflour to it and mix properly.
  5. Now take a little dough and roll it in a circle. Spread cornflour paste and fold it twice to make a triangle. Roll it again with a rolling pin.
  6. Prick from both the sides with A fork. roll all the puris and keep aside.
  7. Put oil on medium flame as it becomes hot add puris one by one and deep fry them. Serve hot with tea or coffee.
