ABOUT Steamed Egg Cake( Dimer Dhoka) RECIPE

A steamed egg preparation from Bengal,we called dimer dhoka. You can fry it too, make sandwiches or a curry with this to eat with rice or roti.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For Cake : Egg - 4
  2. Boiled potato - 1
  3. Sliced onion - 1
  4. Tomatoes, chopped - 1
  5. Capsicum, chopped - 1 tbsp
  6. Green chilli, chopped - 2 tsp
  7. Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  8. Gram flour - 1 tsp
  9. Baking soda - 1 pinch
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Red chilli powder
  12. Chopped coriander - 2 tbsp
  13. Lime juice -1 tsp
  14. For batter : Corn flour - 2 tbsp
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Red chilli powder - to taste
  17. Bread crumbs - as required
  18. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients listed for cake, pour in a greased tiffin box and steam in a pressure cooker for 5 min. Meanwhile make the batter ready.
  2. After five minutes open the cooker and take out the steamed cake. Cool it for 2 minutes then cut the edges of the steamed egg and cut into pieces
  3. Dip the pieces in the batter then cover with bread crumbs. Deep fry and serve with ketchup or chutney.
