Chickpea curry is made up of boiled chickpeas soaked in a tamarind and coconut flavored curry.
Boil the Chickpeas.
Take a wide pan, add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds and curry leaves
Next add the garlic cloves, onion and tomato and saute it for 2 minutes
Now add the spice powder one by one, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder
Mix the tamarind pulp with water and add it to the curry and cook till the raw flavor is gone
Now add the boiled chickpeas and required salt
Allow the curry to cook it for 5 minutes
In a mixer, blend the coconut and poppy seeds with little water and make a paste
Add the paste to the curry and let it cook 2 minutes
Now the chickpea tamarind and coconut base curry is ready to be served. You can serve this curry with white rice, naan, roti, etc.,
