  1. Ingredients for Misal -
  2. Moth beans Sprout 1 bowl
  3. Chick peas Sprout 1/2 bowl
  4. Oil 1 tablespoon
  5. Curry leaves 10 to 12 chopped
  6. Green chilli 2 chopped
  7. Onion 1/2 cup fine chopped
  8. Tomato 1 cup fine chopped
  9. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  11. salt as per taste
  12. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  13. Ingredients for misal masala -
  14. oil 2 teaspoons
  15. Onion 1 chopped
  16. Garlic 5 buds
  17. Cloves 3
  18. Cinnamon 1 inch piece
  19. Coconut chopped 1 tablespoon
  20. Whole red chillies 4
  21. Whole coriander seeds 2 teaspoons
  22. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  23. Black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon
  24. Ingredients for Vada -
  25. Boiled potato 4 peeled
  26. Green coriander 1 tablespoon chopped
  27. Chopped Green chilli 1 teaspoon
  28. salt as per taste
  29. Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  30. Mango powder 1 teaspoon
  31. Black Pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon
  32. Ingredients for vada coating -
  33. Gram flour 1/3 cup
  34. Chopped green coriander 1 tablespoon
  35. salt as per taste
  36. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  37. Garam Masala Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  38. Oil for frying
  39. For serving misal vada -
  40. Any namkeen 1 bowl
  41. Chopped onion 4 tablespoons
  42. lemon juice 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. First we will prepare misal masala for misal.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and fry little.
  3. Add coconut and fry for 2 minutes on low flame.
  4. Add all whole spices with garlic and fry for 1 minute more.
  5. Switch off gas and let masala cool.
  6. Dry grind masala onion mixture and keep aside.
  7. Now we will make misal.
  8. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin and curry leaves.
  9. Add onion and fry till red.
  10. Now time to add misal masala which we prepared before.
  11. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, tomatoes and green chillies.
  12. Fry till oil leaves on low flame.
  13. Now add both beans and chick peas sprouts. Mix properly.
  14. Pour 2 cups of water and keep the lid.
  15. Give one whistle until cooked.
  16. Now we will make vada.
  17. Make mashed boil potatoes.
  18. Add salt, red chilli powder, mango powder, green chilli, green coriander, black pepper powder and cumin powder.
  19. Mix well.
  20. Mix gram flour with water and make a thick paste.
  21. Add salt, green coriander, red chilli powder and garam masala powder. Mix properly.
  22. Make round tikkis from potato mixture.
  23. Heat oil in a wok or pan.
  24. Take a tikki, dip in gram flour paste and fry in hot oil till red and crispy.
  25. Now time to serve misal vada.
  26. Keep vada in a plate, pour misal around vadas.
  27. Add chopped onion and namkeen.
  28. Pour 3 to 4 drops lemon juice and serve immediately.
  29. Tasty spicy misal vada ready. Enjoy!!
