ABOUT Mung daal salad RECIPE

This is a delicious and healthy salad which I had learnt long back from one of my South Indian neighbor.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Yellow moong daal- 1 cup
  2. Cucumber- 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
  3. Carrot- 1/2 cup (grated)
  4. Coconut- 1/2 cup (grated)
  5. Chaat Masala- 1 tsp
  6. Lemon Juice- 1 tsp
  7. Green chillies- 1 (finely chopped)
  8. For tempering:-
  9. Oil- 1 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  11. Curry leaves- 10
  12. Asafoetida- 1 pinch

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak mung daal for half an hour.
  2. Prepare finely chopped cucumber, grated carrot and coconut.
  3. Drain moong daal such that no water remains.
  4. Now mix all prepared ingredients.
  5. Take oil in small pan, add mustard seeds on heating. Add curry leaves and afafoetida.
  6. Pour this on salad just before serving.
  7. Sprinkle chaat masala and lime juice. Mix properly and serve.
