Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 tablespoon chana dal
  2. 1/2 dry coconut (kobri)
  3. 1/2 teaspoon jeera
  4. 1/2 teaspoon pepper corns
  5. Tamarind coin sized
  6. Salt as per taste
  7. 6- 8 dry red chilli (byadagi + guntur chilli)
  8. 1 teaspoon oil
  9. Water for grinding

Instructions

  1. In a kadai add oil, chana dal and fry till light brown.
  2. Add in dry red chillies and fry.
  3. Add in dry coconut (kobri) and fry.
  4. Add jeera and pepper and fry . Once done allow it to cool.
  5. Transfer the cooled mixture to a jar. Add in salt and tamarind. Add enough water and grind to a smooth paste.
  6. Chana dal chutney ready.
