ABOUT Sooji Ka Halwa RECIPE

Sooji ka halwa is a very popular dish all over india.This is the best is known as sheera in Western India and rava kesari in south India. It made on religious occasions as Prasad like Diwali, Ganesh chaturtI and Holi. I prepared this recipe for Ashtami and Navami.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup semolina (rava/ sooji)
  2. 1/2 cup ghee
  3. 2 1/2 cup milk
  4. 5-6 saffron strands
  5. 1 tsp cardamom powder
  6. 1 1/2 cup sugar
  7. 2 tsp cashew nuts for garnishing (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add semolina and roast on low flame till fragrant
  2. Heat milk in another pan
  3. Add milk saffron and cardamom powder to semolina. Mix it well
  4. Add sugar, mix it and cover for 3-4 minutes and cook till melt
  5. Switch off the flame, add cashew nuts and mix well.
  6. Serve hot garnish with cashew nuts.
