Chickpeas are very good source of protein and green chickpeas tastes really delicious when you make sabzi of it! This sabzi is very popular in north India and here have made it Jain. Serve it with any Indian bread in your dinner!

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 bowl green channa/ choliya, skin removed
  2. To make gravy:
  3. 2 tbsp oil
  4. 2 tomatoes, roughly chopped
  5. 1 tsp ginger paste
  6. 1 tsp green chillies
  7. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  8. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 1 tsp coriander powder
  10. 1/3 tsp garam masala
  11. 2 cup curd
  12. Salt to taste
  13. 1/4 cup corn flour
  14. 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. First in medium sized sauce pan, add 1 tbsp oil, once hot add tomatoes, green chillies and ginger paste and mix it well.
  2. Cook for 2 mins with salt and add other dry masala into it.
  3. Mix it well and cook until tomatoes releases water and it's cooked.
  4. Now remove it from heat and let it cool down.
  5. Grind it with curd and corn flour mixture.
  6. Now in another large pan, add remaining 1 tbsp oil, add cumin seeds and the gravy we made and again cook for 2 mins.
  7. Add water to get desired gravy consistency.
  8. Add green channa and cover it with lid, let it be cooked for another 10 mins (Don't boil or over cook the choliya).
  9. Serve it hot with any type of Indian bread.
