A Gujarati kadhi recipe with goodness of drumstick which is quick to make and good for health

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2-3 drumsticks
  2. 1 cup curd
  3. 1 tbsp besan
  4. 2 cups water
  5. 1 tbsp chilli- ginger- garlic paste
  6. Salt to taste
  7. 1 tbsp sugar
  8. 1 tbsp ghee
  9. 1 tsp jeera
  10. 7-8 curry leaves
  11. Pinch of turmeric
  12. 1/2 tsp red chilly powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix besan with curd. Add chilly- ginger- garlic paste, salt, sugar and churn it.
  2. Cut drumsticks into 2" size pieces.
  3. Boil drumstick pieces in water till half done.
  4. Once the drumstick pieces are half cooked, add the curd mixture in it and let it come to a boil.
  5. For Tadka: Heat ghee in a pan and add jeera. Let it crackle, then add turmeric, curry leaves and red chilly powder.
  6. Pour the tadka over the kadhi.
  7. Serve hot with steam rice.
