ABOUT Khapse RECIPE

Khapse is famous arunachal pradesh snack. Losar is tibetian word for new year which is celebrated by buddhists world wide especially in arunachalpradesh,himachal and sikkim.These traditional biscuits are made during festive time.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. All purpose flour 2 cups
  2. Half cup milk
  3. sugar dissolved in half cup warm water
  4. Sun flower oil 4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Preparing dough:Take all purpose flour in bowl. Add sugar water,oil and milk
  2. Knead to a soft dough
  3. Flatten the dough using roller
  4. Cut long strips. Then make criss cross cut to form diamond shapes. Make a cut at the centre of each diamond
  5. Remove the diamond pieces
  6. Now insert tip of the diamond in to middle hole and make a twist
  7. Make similar process with all diamond shapes
  8. You can also insert the base of diamond in to middle hole and make a twist
  9. Here are the shapes. This basic shape is called nyapsha.
  10. Here is braid shape. Flatten the dough and make thin long strips
  11. Join the tip of the strips.
  12. Make braid shape similar to like how we braid hair
  13. Here are braid shapes
  14. Another shape is cut long wide strips and make cut in the centre
  15. Insert the base of strip in to the middle hole and make a twist
  16. Here is the shape
  17. Then comes another shape. Make long rope and join 2 ends
  18. Then make swirls from one end and join the tip
  19. Fry all khapse in oil until they turn brown in color.
  20. Enjoy crispy khapse with tea
