I love innovative recipes with Yam. Such a humble vegetable but tastes delicious in all the ways...
1) For batter- Mix Besan, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli paste, salt and water and mix well to form a thick consistency batter.
2) Peel purple yam and cut it into thick slices
3) Coarsely ground black peppercorns and cumin seeds
4) Now add 2 tbsp hot oil and soda bi-carbonate to the batter prepared in step 1 and mix well.
5) Now take 1 slice of purple yam and dip it in the batter.
6) Yam slice should be coated well and then sprinkle coarsely ground pepper and jeera on one side of the yam slice.
7) Deep fry on both sides.
8) Repeat the procedure for all slices.
9) Serve hot.
