Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 4 Bread slices
  2. Ghee as required to shallow fry the bread
  3. Milk 3 cups
  4. Sugar for rabdi 2 tsp
  5. Nuts as per choice
  6. Cardamom Powder 1/4 tsp
  7. Saffron as per requirement
  8. Sugar Syrup - Sugar 1/3 cup
  9. Water 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Cut the sides/corners of the bread slices
  2. Now cut the slices into triangles.
  3. These are traditionally deep fried, but I am going to shallow fry these in a pan in ghee.
  4. Shallow fry till they are nice crispy golden brown. Set aside
  5. In another, add sugar and water and make a simple syrup. Make sure that the syrup is little thick. Keep that aside
  6. Now, in another pan, boil milk on medium heat and stir continuously. Add cardamom, saffron. Boil till the milk reduces to half.
  7. Now, place everything in front of you. The sugar syrup, milk and bread slices. Dip the bread slices in the syrup only once and keep it on your serving place
  8. Once all the slices are arranged on the plate, top it with the thickened milk. Coat all the slices. Garnish with nuts and saffron strands. Keep in the refrigerator and serve nice and chilled
