ABOUT Kaju Katli RECIPE

A very famous Indian dessert, it is prepared in Holi , Bhai dooj or for Diwali.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Cashew nuts 1 cup or 200 gms
  2. Sugar 1/2 cup
  3. Cardamom powder or saffron strands 1/8 tsp
  4. water 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. First make cashew powder , grind them and keep aside
  2. Now strain the cashew powder
  3. Heat a nonstick pan
  4. Add sugar and water , boil and stir , until one string consistency
  5. Now add saffron or cardamom powder
  6. Also add cashew powder
  7. Mix well , until it forms a dough , it may take 2_3 mins
  8. Now add 1/2 tsp ghee and mix again until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan
  9. Switch off gas
  10. Grease a butter paper
  11. Put the mixture in it
  12. Grease your palms with ghee and knead for 30 secs
  13. Now spread in a greased plate
  14. Press with the help of a glass or rolling pin
  15. Cut in desired shape
  16. Serve
