ABOUT Naan ki roti RECIPE

The traditional hyderabadi naan, the square shaped fluffy naan also known as "naan ki roti", is served with the delicious mughlai curries.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Maida - 1 cup
  2. Yeast - 1 tsp
  3. Baking soda - 1/4
  4. Salt
  5. Milk - 1/2 cup
  6. Sugar - 1 tbsp
  7. oil

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast with warm milk and sugar. Once it froths, mix it with rest of the ingredients.
  2. Form a soft dough, cover it with a cling film and keep it in a warm environment for 1.5-2 hrs.
  3. Once it rises, roll the dough , cut into squares using a cookie cutter and poke holes in it and make cut marks.
  4. Brush with little oil and bake them in a preheated oven at 190℃ for 10 minutes. P.S : Traditionally they are cooked in tandoor.
