Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Hilsa pieces 5
  2. Mustard seeds 2 tbsp
  3. Laupata(bottlegourd leaves) 10
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Mustard oil 2 tbsp for cooking
  6. Green chillies 7
  7. Turmeric powder 1/2 tp

Instructions

  1. 1 First make a mustard paste with mustard seeds,1 tp salt and 4 green chillies,water.
  2. 2 Now marinate the hilsa pieces with turmeric,mustard paste,1 tbsp mustard oil and salt per need.Coat it well.
  3. 3 Now heat a flat pan and add 1tbsp of mustard oil.Heat the oil and place the leaves one after another on the pan. 4 Now place the marinated hilsa on gourd leaves.Pour the whole leaveover marination.Paste should be little runny.
  4. 5 Now cover the hilsa with other leftover leaves.Cover with a lid.
  5. 6 Now steam it for 7 min on low flame and hilsa is ready.
