Its a Rajasthani recipe specially made on "sheetlashtmi" (basoda) ,the day when we make many items one day before to eat next day.., and this puri is also one of the main item among them (its not a deep fried puri) but named puri that is fried on tawa , like paratha

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cup wheat flour
  2. 1 cup yellow moong daal (washed and soaked about one hour)
  3. 2 tsp red chilly powder
  4. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  5. 1 tsp Asafoetida
  6. 1 tbsp oil
  7. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  8. 1 tsp whole corriender seeds
  9. pinch of clove powder
  10. Salt taste
  11. water to knead dough
  12. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Take wheat flour in a big bowl and add and add all the spices into it and mix well
  2. Now add oil and moving daal into it
  3. Make a soft dough using water little by little as needed
  4. grease with 2 -3 drops of oil and rest it for about 15 minutes
  5. Divide the dough into small balls and roll out a puri from it
  6. Make a whole in centre
  7. heat up a griddle ,roast it from both by drizzling some oil till crispy
  8. Serve hot with curd
