ABOUT Rawa appam. RECIPE

A sweet evening snack for kids,with all purpose flour, semolina,coconut and sugar.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the dough,
  2. Wheat or all purpose flour 1/2 cup
  3. Ghee 1 tbsp
  4. Salt
  5. Water,enough to make dough.
  6. For filling,
  7. Rawa 6 tbsp
  8. grated coconut 4 tbsp
  9. Sugar 2 1/2 tbsp
  10. Crushed nuts 2 tbsp
  11. Kismis 1tbsp
  12. Ghee 2 drops.
  13. Cardamom powder 2 pinch
  14. oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Knead a soft dough with flour,ghee,salt and water. Keep aside.
  2. Heat a pan,add ghee,then add rawa,coconut and sugar. Fry well with out changing colour,till the mixture becomes a little smooth. Remove and Cool it. Then divide this into 4 portions. If the mixture tends to get a bit dry, then add some water or milk.
  3. Make 4 balls out of the dough .roll it into a small chappathi,put the filling in the middle,close the edges,seal well. Roll it like pori. Make 4 pooris ,the same way. Try to roll as thin as possible.
  4. Heat oil in a pan,deep fry one by one. Serve it hot.
