ABOUT Badam Paalada RECIPE

Paalada Pradhaman is a very popular malayali delicacy.You can enjoy a cup of Paalada Pradhaman for sure whenever you attend a Malayalee Wedding.It is made of rice flakes and milk.This new year day I did a experiment in it.I flavoured it with badam paste which added a good aroma and taste to it.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Milk 1 litre
  2. Sugar 1tablespoon(can add according to one's taste)
  3. Condensed milk one bowl
  4. Elachi [cardamom] powder one pinch
  5. Cashew nut and raisins to season it
  6. Badam [almonds] one bowl
  7. Rice flakes( available in the market as 'Ada') one bowl
  8. ghee

Instructions

  1. Soak the badam in hot water.After that in a thick bottomed deep and wide pan fry the cashew and raisins and keep them aside.
  2. Then add the rice flakes in the ghee and saute it well.when it becomes rose colour pressure cook it and keep it aside.
  3. Now add the boiled milk and when it becomes hot add the cooked ada ,mix it well and then close it with a lid for 5mins. At this time grind the Badam into a smooth paste .
  4. Then add the badam paste into the pradhaman and stir continuously for atleast 20 mins. Now add the sugar,condensed milk,elaichi powder, cashew nuts and raisins.
  5. Now cook it for 2-3 mins stirring continuously. The delicious Badam Palada pradhaman is ready to serve now.It will be a good treat after a sumptuous meal.
