Apple cinnamon pie or tart is a very tempting recipe. It is a must in the Christmas menu. Apple Cinnamon Pie has delicious combination of apples and cinnamon

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Pie dough -
  2. All-purpose flour- 2 1/2 cup
  3. Cold butter 180gm
  4. Sugar 3tbsp
  5. Salt- 1 pinch
  6. Ice-water or cold milk as required
  7. Pie filling
  8. Apple (peeled and sliced) 3 to 4
  9. Sugar 3/4 cup
  10. Honey 2 tbsp
  11. Almond flakes 1 tbsp
  12. Cashewnuts chopped -1 tbsp
  13. Walnut chopped 1 tbsp
  14. Raisins 1 tbsp
  15. Ready vanilla sponge 1 cup
  16. Cinnamon powder 1 tsp
  17. Topping on pie -
  18. Apple slices 1-2
  19. Honey
  20. sugar
  21. Apple glaze or sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix all-purpose flour, salt, sugar in a large bowl add butter, rub in with fingertips to form a coarse meal-like texture. Mix ice-water or cold milk in a small bowl . Blend nicely then wrap in plastic film. refrigerate for 20 mins
  2. Pie filling -
  3. Take a pan heat butter, add chopped apple. Cook on medium flame till it becomes slightly dry. Add honey and , almond flakes, dry fruits and mix well, turn off the flame. Add vanilla sponge (crumbs) cinnamon powder mix well and let it cool
  4. Preheat the oven 180 degrees C
  5. Remove dough from refrigerator
  6. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 12 inches round . transfer to pie or tart dish
  7. Trim from edges and turn edges under crimp decoratively with knife
  8. Bake pie base for 8 to 10 mins
  9. Take baked pie base, add apple, cinnamon and mixture press it evenly. Place apple slices spread sugar and bake for 5 mins
  10. Garnish with honey, apple glaze or sauce.
  11. Serve hot or cold with tea or coffee
