ABOUT Fancy Basket Chaat RECIPE

Chatpata snack bites. Famous street food from my state of Gujarat. Fully loaded with fruit vegetables some namkins and different chutneys. I tried this fancy basket for my chatpati chaat.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For basket -
  2. Maida 2 cup
  3. Corn flour 2 tbs
  4. Salt Pinch
  5. Oil 2 tbs
  6. Water as required
  7. Oil for deepfrying
  8. For tikki -
  9. Boiled and mashed potatoes 3
  10. Salt, sugar and lemon juice as per your taste
  11. Roasted Cumin Powder 1/2 Tsp
  12. Chilli garlic and ginger paste 1 tsp
  13. Corn flour 2tbs
  14. Oil 2/3 tbs for shallow frying
  15. Mixup for chaat -
  16. chopped onion 2
  17. chopped tomatoes 2
  18. Chopped cucumber 1
  19. Chopped coloured capsicum 1/2 cup
  20. Chopped coriander leaves 2 tbs
  21. Fine Chopped green chilli 2/3
  22. Chopped green garlic 1 tbs
  23. Mix namkins ( spicy ratlami sev + aloo sev + chana daal + spicy bundi + chana jor garam ) 2 bowl
  24. Chaat masala 1 tsp
  25. Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  26. Lemon juice 1
  27. For serving -
  28. curd 1 bowl
  29. Green chatni 1 bowl ( green garlic +coriander leaves +mint leaves + roasted cumin powder + green chilli + salt + lemon juice)
  30. Sweet red chatni 1 bowl ( made from tamarind and jaggery with cumin powder salt red chilli powder)
  31. For garnish -
  32. Chopped green onions 1 tbs
  33. Pomegranate pearls 2 tbs
  34. Coriander leaves 1 tbs
  35. Beetroot shredded 1 tbs
  36. Cheese for sprinkling
  37. Mint leaves

Instructions

  1. For basket -
  2. Take a bowl, add maida and corn flour with salt and oil and mix well.
  3. Add water and make a hard dough.
  4. Make a ball from the dough Nad roll a a chapati.
  5. Tap the fork on chapati and then cut it into the strips.
  6. Now take a steel bowl and arrange the strips on the bowl covering all edges
  7. First set on the bottam of bowl them arrenge on the sides of bowl.
  8. Stick the edges with water. Tap your hand on the strips of the basket.
  9. Now deep fry the basket into the oil till light brown on slow flame.
  10. Fry all the baskets one by one.
  11. After deep frying remove the baskets carefully
  12. For tikki :-
  13. In bowl mix all the ingredients except corn flour.
  14. Take a ball from mixture and make a tikki
  15. Coat the tikki in corn flour.
  16. Shallow fry all tikkies with a dash of oil
  17. For serving -
  18. Take a big bowl add namkin mix and chopped veggies, chillies and coriander leaves .
  19. Sprinkle chat masala, chilli powder and lemon juice and mix well.
  20. Now take a serving plate. Keep the basket in it.
  21. Now add tikki in the basket.
  22. Add mixed bhel or a layer of chaat
  23. Add green chutney and sweet chutney with curd
  24. Garnish with pomegranate pearls, coriander leaves, beetroot and spring onions. Add cheese and mint leaves.
  25. serve
