Sliced onions fritters with coating of gram flour.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sliced onions 1 cup
  2. Gram flour 1/2 cup
  3. Salt 1 tsp
  4. Red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  5. Carrom seeds 1/2 tsp
  6. Green chillies 2
  7. Water 3 tbsp
  8. Oil to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Take onions in a large bowl. Season them with salt, red chilli powder and carrom seeds.
  2. Let them rest for 5 minutes to release moisture from onions.
  3. Add gram flour and chopped green chillies. Sprinkle some water to get a thick coating.
  4. Heat oil in a wok.
  5. Pinch small portions of batter with your fingers and leave in hot oil. Oil should be hot else bhajias will get soggy not crisp.
  6. Now fry bhajias on medium hot oil to cook them deep inside.
  7. When crisp and golden drain on a kitchen napkin.
  8. Serve with saunth chutney and mint chutney.
