ABOUT Mutton Nihari RECIPE

Mutton Nihari Recipe is a most famous traditional cooking recipe. Many people are addicted to eat Nihari once in a week especially during winter season. It is very easy to prepare and gives you finger licking taste of Special Pakistani Dishes.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For nihari masala-
  2. 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  3. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  4. 1/2 teaspoon kashmiri chilli powder
  5. 1/4 turmeric powder
  6. 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  7. 2 teaspoon fennel
  8. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  9. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  10. 2 green cardamom
  11. 10 cloves
  12. 2 black cardamom
  13. 1 stick of cinnamon
  14. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  15. 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  16. 1 bay leaf
  17. 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  18. 2 tablespoon coriander seeds
  19. 1 ainseed flower
  20. For nihari-
  21. 1 kilogram mutton
  22. 1/2 cup oil + 1 tablespoon
  23. 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  24. 2 tablespoon nihari spice powder (you can add or reduce according to your spice level)
  25. 1 onion
  26. 2 tablespoon wheat flour

Instructions

  1. Roast all the ingredients except the powders. Mix together everything and dry grind to a fine powder. Your Nihari Masala is ready to use.
  2. Heat 1/2 cup oil in a big pan and fry the garlic paste. Add the mutton and fry well.
  3. Add the nihari spice powder and mix well. Add 12 cups of water and cook on low flame till the mutton is tender.
  4. Mix the wheat flour in a cup of water and add to the mutton and cook for further 5 minutes.
  5. Heat the 1 tablespoon oil in a kadai and fry the onion till brown. Add this to the cooked mutton. Serve hot with naan.

Fry the wheat flour in a little ghee add 1tsp of nihaari masala then add will taste better
