Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. All Purpose Flour/ Maida 1 cup
  2. Coconut milk 1/2 cup
  3. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt 1 tsp
  5. Oil 2 tbsp + for cooking
  6. Water 1/4 cup or more if required

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix in the flour, salt and turmeric powder. Then pour in the coconut milk and mix it well.
  2. Pour in 1/4 cup water and continue adding till you get a batter that can be poured with a spoon. In case it is very thick, add more coconut milk or water. If it becomes very thin, add in some all purpose flour.
  3. Once the batter is made, sieve it through a sieve with small holes. Then add the batter to the jala roti mould and keep it ready.
  4. Heat a tava and add a few drops of oil. With the help of a paper towel spread it evenly. Using the mould, drop the batter in a flower shape. (Don't worry if it is not even.)
  5. Cook for a minute till the top part is cooked. Then fold the two opposite sides and roll it up.
  6. Serve it immediately with any coconut based curry like Green Curry or Red Curry.
