I think this is one of the easiest and most tasty preparation of boiled potatoes. I love the tanginess of the sauce and it just goes so well with puri.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 6-7 potatos freshly boiled(roughly chopped)
  2. 4 large tomatos pureed in blender
  3. 3 tbsp oil
  4. 1 tsp jeera
  5. 1/4 tsp hing
  6. salt as per taste
  7. Red chilli powder as per taste(preferable that has rich red color)
  8. 1 tsp sugar
  9. 1/4 Turmeric
  10. 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  11. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  12. 1 tsp Coriander powder

Instructions

  1. In a heavy bottom pan heat oil and temper the jeera and hing.
  2. Add tomato puree and cook till all the moisure reduces. Add all the masalas and sugar. Cook for another 30 sec.
  3. Add the potatos and add 1 glass water(250ml) and let it cook and reduce further to a thick consistency.
  4. Mash some of the potatos in the gravy to get that typical rase wale aloo.
  5. Enjoy with hot puris!!
